Abstract
Apparatus, systems, and methods for providing transmission and localized reception of audio, visual, and tactile signaling are taught for a myriad of useful purposes, including embodiments that permit differentiation between selected groups of intended recipients to permit simultaneous use of multiple instances of this technology in close proximity, if desired.

An electronic communication method comprising steps of:
- A. broadcasting, by each of at least two first signaling devices, a first signal each comprising one or more first configuration element(s) selected by a user of each of said signaling devices operative to distinguish signal(s) of each of said signaling devices from other of said signals without any prior knowledge of which, if any, electronic receiving devices are configured to receive said signals;
- B. directly receiving, by at least one first receiving device, said configuration element(s) in each of said at least two first signals;
- C. electronically comparing, by said at least one first receiving device, each of said one or more first configuration element(s) with one or more second configuration element(s) selected by a user of each of said at least one first receiving device operative to distinguish signals desired to be received by said at least one first receiving device from other signals;
- and
- D. generating, by said at least one first receiving device, an activation response if and only if at least one of said first configuration element(s) is identical to at least one of said second configuration element(s).

An electronic communication system comprising:
- A. two or more first signaling devices each (i) comprising one or more first configuration element(s) selected by a user of said signaling devices operative to distinguish signal(s) of each of said two or more signaling devices from other of said signals and (ii) capable of broadcasting a first signal comprising said one or more first configuration element(s) without any prior knowledge of any receiving devices configured to receive said signals;
- and
- B. one or more first receiving device(s) each (i) comprising one or more second configuration element(s) selected by a user of each of said one or more first receiving device(s) operative to compare and distinguish signals desired to be received by said one or more first receiving device from other signals, (ii) comprising one or more stimuli generator(s);
- and (iii) capable of directly receiving said first signals comprising said one or more first configuration element(s);
- wherein said one or more first receiving device(s) are configured to provide an activation response if and only if at least one of any of said received first signaler(s) comprises at least one of said one or more second configuration element(s).
2 more elements
An electronic communication method comprising:
- A. a receiving device comprising one or more configuration element(s) selected by a user of said receiving device and operative to distinguish signal(s) broadcast by two or more signaling devices from other of said signals without any prior knowledge of which, if any, signaling devices are configured to broadcast said signals;
- wherein said receiving device:
- (i) provides an activation response whenever any directly received signal comprises at least one of said one or more configuration element(s) (a) selected by a user of each of said two or more signaling devices and (b) operative to compare and distinguish signals desired to be received from other signals;
- and
- (ii) does not provide an activation response when any signal received from a signaling device does not comprise at least one of said one or more configuration element(s).
