Abstract
A method for communication in a wireless telecommunication system is provided. The method includes assigning a first cell of a first network node to a first timing advance group (TAG) of a user equipment (UE) and assigning a second cell of a second network node to a second TAG of the UE, wherein the second network node has a separate MAC (medium access control) scheduler from the first network node, and wherein the UE is able to transmit data on both the first and the second cell.
Claims17
A method performed by at least one processor for communication in a wireless telecommunication system, the method comprising:
- assigning a plurality of cells to a timing advance group (TAG);
- and
- in response to the assigning, signaling, to a user equipment (UE), the TAG and an association between the TAG and the plurality of cells, the plurality of cells assigned to the TAG comprising at least a first cell originating from a first network node and a second cell originating from a second network node separate from the first network node;
- wherein the second network node has a separate MAC (medium access control) scheduler from the first network node, wherein the second network node is an evolved Node B (eNB) having its own radio resource management (RRM) functionality.
A first network node comprising:
- at least one processor configured to:
- assign a plurality of cells to a timing advance group (TAG);
- and
- in response to the assigning, signal, to a user equipment (UE), the TAG and an association between the TAG and the plurality of cells, the plurality of cells assigned to the TAG comprising at least a first cell originating from the first network node and a second cell originating from a second network node separate from the first network node,
- wherein the second network node has a separate medium access control (MAC) scheduler from the first network node, wherein the second network node is an evolved Node B (eNB) having its own radio resource management (RRM) functionality, wherein the UE is able to transmit data on the first cell and the second cell.
A user equipment (UE) comprising:
- at least one processor configured to:
- receive signaling comprising a timing advance group (TAG) comprising at least a first cell originating from a first network node and a second cell originating from a second network node separate from the first network node, the signaling further comprising an association between the TAG and the first cell and the second cell,
- wherein the second network node has a separate medium access control (MAC) scheduler from the first network node, wherein the second network node is an evolved Node B (eNB) having its own radio resource management (RRM) functionality, wherein the UE is able to transmit data on the first cell and the second cell.
