Projection-type video image display apparatus

A projection-type video image display apparatus emitting light to a display element which generates a video image to project the video image, the projection-type video image display apparatus comprising:

• light emitters including a red light emitter configured to emit a red light, a blue light emitter configured to emit a blue light, and a green light emitter configured to emit a green light;
• a mirror configured to reflect white light obtained by synthesizing the red light, the blue light and the green light emitted from the light emitters while permitting the white light to pass through the mirror based on predetermined transmittance characteristics;
• an illuminance sensor disposed on a back surface side of the mirror and configured to measure each quantity of red light, blue light, and green light of the white light which has passed through the mirror;
• and
• a controller configured to acquire information on the quantity of light measured by the illuminance sensor and adjust amounts of light emissions of the red light, the blue light, and the green light to be emitted by the light emitters respectively, based on the information acquired,
• wherein the mirror having transmittance characteristics such that each of light transmittances at a center wavelength of the red light emitted by the red light emitter and at a center wavelength of the blue light emitted by the blue light emitter is larger than a light transmittance at a center wavelength of the green light emitted by the green light emitter.
