An integrated circuit comprising:

• circuitry, which, in operation:
• controls reception of control information that is mapped to a frequency resource with a mapping method and receives a notification of the mapping method;
• and
• detects the control information,
• wherein:
• the mapping method is set according to a modulation and coding scheme level of the control information;
• and
• the notification indicates, as the set mapping method, one of:
• a localized mapping;
• a distributed mapping;
• and
• both of the localized mapping and the distributed mapping.

An integrated circuit comprising:

• mapping circuitry, which, in operation, maps control information to a frequency resource with a mapping method;
• and
• transmitting circuitry, which, in operation, controls transmission of the control information and a notification of the mapping method,
• wherein:
• the mapping method is set according to a modulation and coding scheme level of the control information;
• and
• the notification indicates, as the set mapping method, one of:
• a localized mapping;
• a distributed mapping;
• and
• both of the localized mapping and the distributed mapping.

An integrated circuit comprising:

• circuitry, which, in operation:
• maps control information to a frequency resource with a mapping method;
• and
• controls transmission of the control information and a notification of the mapping method,
• wherein:
• the mapping method is set according to a modulation and coding scheme level of the control information;
• and
• the notification indicates, as the set mapping method, one of:
• a localized mapping;
• a distributed mapping;
• and
• both of the localized mapping and the distributed mapping.
