Abstract
An omnipolar magnetic sensor system includes an input stage and a behavior component. The input stage is configured to receive a source signal and to selectively chop the source signal. Further, the input stage is configured to balance the source signal using behavior parameters and generate a balanced source signal.
Claims25
A signal processing system comprising:
- an input stage configured to receive at least one source signal, to balance the at least one source signal using behavior parameters to generate an at least one balanced source signal, and to selectively chop the at least one balanced source signal to generate at least one chopped balanced signal;
- an output component configured to generate a digital output signal from the at least one chopped balanced signal;
- and
- a behavior component configured to generate the behavior parameters and a signal used to chop or toggle the at least one balanced source signal according to the digital output and an intermediary signal from a pulse generator, wherein the behavior parameters include a hysteresis signal and an offset signal, wherein the behavior component includes a hysteresis signal generator configured to generate the hysteresis signal using one or more hysteresis switches configured to toggle output of the hysteresis signal based on the intermediary signal and an offset signal generator configured to generate the offset signal using one or more offset switches configured to toggle output of the offset signal based on the intermediary signal.

An omnipolar magnetic sensor system comprising:
- a magnetic sensor configured to measure a magnetic field and to generate a sensor signal having an amplitude and a polarity;
- a comparator configured to receive the sensor signal, to generate a balanced signal from the sensor signal using behavior parameters, to selectively chop the balanced signal to generate a chopped balanced signal, and to generate a digital output based on omnipolar behavior and the chopped balanced signal, wherein the comparator utilizes the behavior parameters and chops the balanced signal on the digital output being at a predefined value;
- and
- a behavior component configured to generate the behavior parameters and a signal used to chop or toggle the balanced signal according to at least the digital output, wherein the behavior parameters include a hysteresis signal and an offset signal, wherein the behavior component includes a hysteresis signal generator configured to generate the hysteresis signal using one or more hysteresis switches configured to toggle output of the hysteresis signal based on an intermediary signal and an offset signal generator configured to generate the offset signal using one or more offset switches configured to toggle output of the offset signal based on the intermediary signal.

A method of operating a magnetic sensor system, the method comprising:
- measuring a magnetic field to generate a sensor signal having an amplitude and a polarity based on the magnetic field;
- balancing the sensor signal using behavior parameters to generate a balanced sensor signal;
- chopping the balanced sensor signal on a digital output signal being a first logic value;
- generating the digital output signal from the chopped balanced signal, wherein the digital output signal is based on only the amplitude of the magnetic signal;
- and
- generating a hysteresis signal using one or more hysteresis switches configured to toggle output of the hysteresis signal based on an intermediary signal and generating an offset signal using one or more offset switches configured to toggle output of the offset signal based on the intermediary signal and generating a signal to chop or toggle the balanced sensor signal according to the digital output and the intermediary signal from a pulse generator.
