Abstract
There is provided a flexible display having a plurality of innovations configured to allow bending of a portion or portions to reduce apparent border size and/or utilize the side surface of an assembled flexible display.
Claims22
A display device comprising:
- a flexible base layer having an active area, a bend portion extending from a bottom edge of the active area, and two opposing side portions of the active area, the bend portion being bent behind the active area at a first angle and the two opposing side portions being bent at a second angle that is less than the first angle, the bend portion having two opposing notched edges;
- a crack stopper structure and an electro static discharge (ESD) circuit on at least one of the two opposing side portions;
- and
- a gate driver between the active area and the crack stopper structure, and extending along at least one of the two opposing side portions of the active area.

A display device comprising:
- a flexible base layer having an active area, a bend portion extending from a bottom edge of the active area, and two opposing side portions of the active area, the bend portion being bent behind the active area at a first angle and the two opposing side portions being bent at a second angle that is less than the first angle;
- a power line structure connected to a pad on the bend portion and extended to the two opposing side portions;
- a gate driver extending along at least one of the two opposing side portions of the active area;
- and
- an electro static discharge (ESD) circuit on or near an end portion of the gate driver.
