Abstract
A solar module includes a laminate structure having at least two solar cells. Each of the solar cells has an individual reinforcement laminated to one face of each of the solar cells. The solar cells are spaced apart from each other and the individual reinforcements are spaced apart from each other such that a gap is defined between each of the solar cells. The solar module includes flexible conductors that extend through the gap between the solar cells and electrically connect the solar cells to each other.
Claims17
A solar module comprising:
- a plurality of solar cells arranged in at least two columns, each of the columns having at least two solar cells and including a column reinforcement that is laminated to a first face of each of the solar cells in the column, the column reinforcements of different columns being separated from each other such that a gap is defined between each of the columns;
- a first cover layer attached to an outer face of each of the column reinforcements;
- a second cover layer attached to a second face of each of the plurality of solar cells;
- and
- flexible conductors located between the first cover layer and the second cover layer, wherein the flexible conductors extend through the gap between the columns of solar cells and electrically connect the solar cells to each other.
