Abstract
A method for cleaning pipes using shock wave generating devices (i) within an interior of a pipe and focusing shock waves therein to remove accumulated material and (ii) from the exterior of a pipe by sending shock waves into the pipe from the exterior to remove accumulated material therein.
Claims19
A method for cleaning an interior of a pipe comprising moving a shock wave generating device within the interior of the pipe and focusing acoustic pressure shock waves from the shock wave generating device with a reflector to at least one of a deposit, occlusion and ice so that focused shock waves clean the interior of the pipe.
A method for cleaning the interior of an underwater pipe comprising moving a shock wave generating device along the exterior of an underwater pipe and sending acoustic pressure shock waves from the shock wave generating device through the exterior of the pipe and into the interior of the pipe to clean at least one of a deposit, occlusion and ice inside the pipe.
