Abstract
The present invention relates to a ball, in particular a soccer ball, comprising: a shell with a plurality of panels on an outside of the shell, wherein the plurality of panels are arranged in such a way that there is a gap between two adjacent panels, and wherein the gap is at least partly filled with a filling material.
Claims15
A method of manufacturing a ball, the method comprising:
- providing a shell;
- providing a plurality of panels and arranging the plurality of panels in a mold;
- arranging the plurality of panels on the shell by moving the plurality of panels toward the shell via the mold so that there is a gap between two adjacent panels with the shell visible through the gap and so that slits are formed between the plurality of panels and the shell;
- and
- after the plurality of panels are arranged, filling the gap at least partly with a filling material by injecting the filling material into the gap between the two adjacent panels and the slits between the plurality of panels and the shell so that the filling material completely covers an outside of the shell inside the gap,
- wherein the filling material is applied to the ball as a liquid.
