Abstract
A catheter assembly is disclosed, which includes a needle support portion that supports an inner needle through a catheter on the leading end side beyond a catheter hub. The needle support portion has a pair of support arms openable and closeable in a left and right direction, and a restraining portion capable of restraining the pair of arms in a closed state and releasing the restraint. A needle hub has an extension portion extending in a leading end direction beyond the catheter hub. A coupling portion between each of the pair of support arms and the extension portion is positioned on the leading end side beyond a base end of the catheter hub.
Claims16
A catheter assembly comprising:
- a catheter;
- a catheter hub fixed to a base end portion of the catheter;
- an inner needle having a needlepoint, inserted into the catheter;
- a needle hub coupled to the inner needle;
- a needle support portion for supporting the inner needle through the catheter on a leading end side of the catheter and distally of the catheter hub;
- the needle support portion having a pair of support arms openable and closeable in a lateral direction, and a restraining portion capable of restraining the pair of support arms in a closed state and releasing a restraint of the pair of support arms;
- the needle hub has an extension portion extending axially and distally of the catheter hub;
- a coupling portion between each of the pair of support arms and the extension portion is positioned on the leading end side of the catheter and distally of a base end of the catheter hub;
- and
- wherein the restraining portion is movable with the respect to the pair of support arms by a distal movement of the catheter hub relative to the inner needle, which releases the restraint with respect to the pair of support arms.
A catheter assembly comprising:
- a catheter;
- a catheter hub fixed to a base end portion of the catheter;
- an inner needle having a needlepoint, inserted into the catheter;
- a needle hub coupled to the inner needle, the needle hub having an extension portion extending axially and distally of the catheter hub;
- a needle support portion for supporting the inner needle through the catheter on a leading end side of the catheter and distally of the catheter hub, the needle support portion having a pair of rotatable support arms, and a restraining portion capable of restraining the pair of support arms;
- a coupling portion between each of the pair of support arms and the extension portion is positioned on the leading end side of the catheter and distally of a base end of the catheter hub;
- and
- wherein the restraining portion is movable with the respect to the pair of support arms by a distal movement of the catheter hub relative to the inner needle, which releases the restraint with respect to the pair of support arms.
A catheter assembly comprising:
- a catheter;
- a catheter hub fixed to a base end portion of the catheter;
- an inner needle having a needlepoint, inserted into the catheter;
- a needle hub coupled to the inner needle, the needle hub having an extension portion extending axially and distally of the catheter hub;
- a needle support portion for supporting the inner needle through the catheter on a leading end side of the catheter and distally of the catheter hub, the needle support portion having a pair of support arms openable and closeable in a lateral direction, and a restraining portion capable of restraining the pair of support arms;
- a hub operating portion coupled to the catheter hub, and the pair of support arms being laterally disposed between the restraining portion;
- and
- wherein the restraining portion is movable with the respect to the pair of support arms by a distal movement of the hub operating portion relative to the inner needle, which releases the restraint with respect to the pair of support arms.
