## CPC

- H03H 11/28: Impedance matching networks
- H03H: IMPEDANCE NETWORKS, e.g. RESONANT CIRCUITS; RESONATORS (waveguides, resonators, lines or other devices of the waveguide type H01P)

## Abstract

An ‘L’ shaped dynamically configurable impedance matching circuit is presented herein. The circuit can include a series element and a shunt element. The shunt element in the L-shaped impedance matching circuit can be moved or modified based on the impedance of the circuit elements in electrical communication with each side of the impedance matching circuit. Thus, in some cases, the impedance matching circuit may be a flexible circuit that can be dynamically modified based on the environment or configuration of the wireless device that includes the impedance matching circuit.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A wireless device comprising:
an antenna having a first impedance value;
a diplexer having a second impedance value, the second impedance value differing from the first impedance value for at least a period of time; and
an impedance matching circuit electrically connected between a first port in electrical communication with the antenna and a second port in electrical communication with the diplexer, the impedance matching network configured to match an impedance of the antenna and the diplexer by electrically repositioning one or more elements of the impedance matching circuit from an electrical connection with the first port to an electrical connection with the second port, and the impedance matching circuit including a switch separated from the first port and the second port by a pair of switches.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The wireless device of claim 1 wherein the impedance matching circuit includes a shunt element between ground and one of the antenna or the diplexer.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The wireless device of claim 2 wherein the impedance matching circuit includes a switch network between the antenna and the diplexer.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The wireless device of claim 3 wherein the switch network includes a first switch, a second switch, and a third switch.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The wireless device of claim 4 wherein the first switch is connected between the antenna and the shunt element, the third switch is connected between the shunt element and the diplexer, and the second switch is included as part of the shunt element.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The wireless device of claim 5 wherein the second switch is separated from the antenna by the first switch and is separated from the diplexer by the third switch.

### Claim 7 (depends on 3)

The wireless device of claim 3 wherein the switch network is configured to switch the shunt element from being in electrical communication between the ground and one of the antenna or the diplexer to being in electrical communication between the ground and the other of the antenna or the diplexer.

### Claim 8 (depends on 2)

The wireless device of claim 2 wherein the shunt element includes one or more capacitors and/or one or more inductors.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The wireless device of claim 1 wherein the impedance matching circuit includes a series element between the antenna and the diplexer.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The wireless device of claim 9 wherein the impedance matching circuit is configurable in a bypass mode that enables a signal to circumvent the series element.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The wireless device of claim 10 wherein a shunt element of the impedance matching network is bypassed when the impedance matching circuit is in the bypass mode.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The wireless device of claim 10 wherein a shunt element of the impedance matching network is not bypassed when the impedance matching circuit is in the bypass mode.

### Claim 13 (depends on 9)

The wireless device of claim 9 wherein the series element includes one or more capacitors and/or one or more inductors.
