## Abstract

Methods and apparatuses are described for organizing audio/visual content and prefetching selected audio/visual content configured to be displayed to a user. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatuses for presenting content identifies a preference corresponding to a user; detects a current display window; and prefetches at least one audio/visual content in response, in part, to the current display window and the preference.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method programmed in a non-transitory memory comprising:
identifying a preference corresponding to a user;
detecting a current display window; and
prefetching at least one audio/visual content in response to the current display window and the preference, wherein a frequency of prefetching depends on detecting user activity, wherein prefetching the at least one audio/visual content is based on a location of an audio/visual content listing relative to listings displayed in the current display window.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising setting a prefetch parameter for a range of display windows in response to the preference.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising setting a prefetch parameter for the frequency of prefetching in response to the preference.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising identifying the user associated with the preference.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the audio/visual content includes one of a document, an image, audio data, and video data.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the preference includes viewing habits and selected genres.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the prefetching further comprises transmitting the audio/visual content to a prefetching buffer.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the prefetching further comprises updating the audio visual content based on the current display window.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the preference includes a play list.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the preference includes a genre selection.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the preference includes a plurality of audio/visual content.

### Claim 12

An electronic device-implemented system comprising:
means for identifying a preference;
means for organizing audio/visual content using a parameter;
means for detecting a current display window being displayed on a display; and
means for prefetching at least one audio/visual content from a memory device in response to the current display window and the preference, wherein a frequency of prefetching depends on detecting user activity, wherein prefetching the at least one audio/visual content is based on a location of an audio/visual content listing relative to listings displayed in the current display window.

### Claim 13

A method programmed in a non-transitory memory comprising:
detecting an activity;
setting prefetch parameter based on the detected activity;
detecting a current display window; and
prefetching a content item based on the prefetch parameter and the current display window, wherein a frequency of prefetching occurs at a predetermined time interval, wherein prefetching the content item is based on a location of a content listing relative to listings displayed in the current display window.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The method according to claim 13, wherein the prefetch parameter includes a range of display windows.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The method according to claim 13, wherein the prefetch parameter includes the frequency of prefetching.

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

The method according to claim 13, further comprising selecting at least one audio/visual content based on a search parameter.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The method according to claim 16, wherein the search parameter is a prefetchcontentlist command.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

The method according to claim 16, wherein the search parameter is a getcontentlist command.

### Claim 19 (depends on 16)

The method according to claim 16, wherein the search parameter is a getcontentbygenre command.

### Claim 20 (depends on 16)

The method according to claim 16, wherein the search parameter is a getmediacontainer command.

### Claim 21 (depends on 13)

The method according to claim 13, further comprising updating the prefetch parameter based on an additional activity.

### Claim 22 (depends on 13)

The method according to claim 13, further comprising prefetching at least one additional audio/visual content based on a changing current display window.

### Claim 23

An electronic device-implemented system comprising:
a hardware media container configured for storing an audio/visual content item;
a prefetch buffer configured for temporarily storing a prefetched audio/visual content items within a memory device; and
a presentation layer configured for transmitting the prefetched audio/visual content item to the prefetch buffer based on a user's preference and a current display window, without a user selecting content within the current display window, wherein the prefetched audio/visual content items dynamically change as the user scrolls through display windows, wherein a frequency of prefetching depends on detecting user activity, wherein prefetching the audio/visual content item is based on a location of an audio/visual content listing relative to listings displayed in the current display window.

### Claim 24 (depends on 23)

The system according to claim 23, further comprising an application configured to utilize the prefetched audio/visual content item.

### Claim 25 (depends on 23)

The system according to claim 23, wherein the presentation layer transmits the prefetched audio/visual content item based on a preset range of display windows.
