Winch provided with adjustable self-tailing and relative operation

A nautical winch, comprising:

• a fixed stator body;
• a rotor body coupled to the stator body, the rotor body being able to rotate around a longitudinal axis to wind a rope on its outer surface;
• a self-tailing device comprising a lower half-pulley and an upper half-pulley, mounted coaxial to the rotor body, the half-pulleys defining therebetween, at an upper portion of an outer surface of the rotor body, a circumferential throat intended to at least partially house a winding of the rope,
• wherein one half-pulley is fixed with respect to the rotor body and the other half-pulley is a mobile half-pulley that is moveable parallel to the longitudinal axis to vary an axial dimension of the circumferential throat;
• and
• an adjustment device for adjusting the position of the mobile half-pulley along the longitudinal axis, independently of and without freeing the rope from the circumferential throat, while the rope is under tension and housed in the circumferential throat, by moving the mobile half-pulley continuously or intermittently through a plurality of positions ranging from a hold position proximal to the fixed half-pulley to a release position distal with respect to the fixed half-pulley,
• wherein in the hold position the mobile half-pulley and the fixed half-pulley are at a minimal axial distance so as to hold the rope therebetween,
• wherein in the release position the mobile half-pulley and the fixed half-pulley are at a maximal axial distance such that the rope is free to slide with respect to the mobile half-pulley and the fixed half-pulley;
• the adjustment device comprising at least one helical guide.
