Abstract
An insulation panel has a top barrier, a bottom barrier, and an insulation core layer disposed between to the top and bottom barriers. The insulation core layer includes a plurality of discrete hydrated compressed puffed polysaccharide particulates that are mechanically and/or chemically adhered to one another and to the top and bottom barriers. The plurality of discrete particulates defines a plurality of voids within the core layer.
Claims25
An insulation panel comprising:
- an insulation core layer comprising a plurality of discrete hydrated compressed puffed polysaccharide particulates at least partially adhered to one another without the use of external adhesives, the plurality of discrete particulates defining a plurality of voids within the core layer;
- and
- an outer layer that at least partially covers the insulation core layer.
A recyclable insulation panel comprising:
- a top paper-based barrier comprising kraft paper;
- a bottom paper-based barrier comprising kraft paper;
- and
- an insulation core layer disposed between to the top and bottom barriers, the insulation core layer being at least partially adhered to the top and bottom barriers without using adhesives, the core layer comprising a plurality of discrete compressed puffed polysaccharide particulates at least partially adhered to one another without using external adhesives, the plurality of discrete particulates defining a plurality of voids within the core layer.

An insulation panel comprising:
- an insulation core layer comprising a plurality of discrete hydrated compressed puffed polysaccharide particulates at least partially adhered to one another without the use of an external adhesive applied to the plurality of discrete particulates and without heat application, the plurality of discrete particulates defining a plurality of voids within the core layer;
- and
- an outer layer that at least partially covers the insulation core layer, the outer layer being at least partially adhered to the insulation core layer without using external adhesives and without heat application.
