Lubricant compositions comprising thiophosphates and thiophosphate derivatives

A lubricant additive composition comprising:

• a.) at least one compound of formula (I)
• or a tribiologically acceptable salt thereof,
• wherein A is:
• each R1a is the same or different and is independently selected from alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aryl, and aralkyl, wherein said aryl and aralkyl are optionally substituted with one to three substituents each independently selected from alkyl and alkenyl;
• each R2a and R3a are independently selected from H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl and cycloalkylalkyl;
• Ya is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, benzyl, and —R4a—R5a—R6a;
• R4a is alkylene;
• R5a is selected from the group consisting of a bond, alkylene;
• —C(O)—and C(R7a)—;
• R6a is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyleneoxy, hydroxy and alkoxy;
• R7a is hydroxy;
• m is an integer from 2 to 8;
• X1a is R8a or Z;
• X2a is selected from the group consisting of R8a,
• R8aa is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aryl, and aralkyl, wherein said aryl and aralkyl are optionally substituted with one to three substituents each independently selected from alkyl and alkenyl;
• Z is
• wherein when X2a is R8a, X1ais Z;
• and
• b.) at least one compound of formula (II)
• wherein each R1b is independently alkyl or cycloalkyl;
• each of R2b R3b ,R4b and R5b is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl and cycloalkyl;
• each n is independently an integer from 0 to 6;
• M1, M2, X1b, and X2b are each independently S or O;
• each W is independently S or O;
• Yb is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxyalkylene, benzyl, and —R6b—R7b—R8b;
• R6b is alkylene;
• R7b is selected from the group consisting of a bond, alkylene;
• —C(O)—and —C(R9)—;
• R8b is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, hydroxyalkylene, hydroxyalkyleneoxy, hydroxyl and alkoxy;
• and
• R9 is alkyl.
