Abstract
Described herein are ester prodrugs of gamma-lactam compounds of Formula (I): or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and methods of use of such compounds for the treatment of ocular diseases including, among other things, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

A compound of Formula (II):
- wherein:
- R1 is unsubstituted C1-C10 alkyl, C1-C10 alkyl substituted by R1A, unsubstituted 2 to 10 membered heteroalkyl, or 2 to 10 membered heteroalkyl substituted by R1A;
- R1A is hydroxyl or halogen;
- and
- n is 3, 4, 5, or 6;
- R2D at each occurrence is independently hydrogen or hydroxyl, and wherein 2, 3, 4, or 5 substituents R2D are not hydrogen.
