Abstract
There is described a method for heating a sample material in a sample holder, the method comprising receiving the sample holder in a heating chamber of a heating system, the sample holder having at least one sample recipient with the sample material therein; dynamically forming an individual mini microwave cavity around the sample recipient; and applying microwaves generated by at least one microwave generator directly to the sample.
Claims9
A method for heating a sample material in a sample holder, the method comprising:
- receiving the sample holder in a heating chamber of a heating system, the sample holder having at least one sample recipient with the sample material therein;
- dynamically forming an individual mini microwave cavity around the at least one sample recipient inside the heating chamber by mating a set of first partial mini cavities with a set of complementary second partial mini cavities, wherein the set of first partial mini cavities are in the heating chamber and the set of complementary second partial mini cavities are on the sample holder;
- and
- applying microwaves generated by at least one microwave generator directly to the sample in the at least one sample recipient within the mini microwave cavity.
