Abstract
The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising Protein Kinase C Zeta (PKC-ζ) inhibitor and therapeutic methods for preventing or treating a pathological condition or symptom or for inducing proliferation of lung progenitor cells in a mammal by administering the PKC-ζ inhibitor.
Claims6
A therapeutic method for treating Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome or Acute Lung Injury in a mammal, wherein lung cell injury is implicated and lung progenitor cell proliferation is desired, comprising administering to a mammal in need of such therapy, an effective amount of a composition comprising the peptide of SEQ ID NO:2
- N-Myristoyl-Ser-Ile-Tyr-Arg-Arg-Gly-Ala-Arg-Arg-Trp-Arg-Lys-Leu-OH
- and a physiologically acceptable carrier, wherein the peptide is administered orally, by inhalation, by bronchoscopic instillation, or by intra-airway aerosol.
A method to treat Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome or Acute Lung Injury or to induce proliferation of lung progenitor cells comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising the peptide of SEQ ID NO:2
- N-Myristoyl-Ser-Ile-Tyr-Arg-Arg-Gly-Ala-Arg-Arg-Trp-Arg-Lys-Leu-OH
- and a physiologically acceptable carrier to a mammal in need thereof, wherein the peptide is administered orally, by inhalation, by bronchoscopic instillation, or by intra-airway aerosol.
