Abstract
Methods and formulations for increasing the water solubility and/or bioavailability of a phytocannabinoid compound is disclosed herein. In one example, a water-soluble phytocannabinoid formulation can comprise a phytocannabinoid; a non-ionic surfactant; and optionally, water. The weight ratio of phytocannabinoid content to non-ionic surfactant can be from 1:10,000 to 1:5.
Claims20
A phytocannabinoid emulsion formulation, comprising:
- a solution including water at a concentration greater than about 50 wt % in the formulation and propylene glycol;
- a phytocannabinoid oil including a phytocannabinoid compound;
- and
- a non-ionic surfactant,
- wherein the weight ratio of phytocannabinoid compound content to non-ionic surfactant is from 1:10,000 to 1:5, and wherein the phytocannabinoid oil and the non-ionic surfactant form particles of undissolved lipophilic compound within the solution that are not visible to the naked eye.
