Abstract
A disposable absorbent article having barrier cuffs is disclosed herein. The disposable absorbent article has improved pad curl characteristics which can facilitate application of the disposable absorbent article.
Claims33
A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal axis and a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the disposable absorbent article further comprising:
- a chassis having first and second longitudinal side edges extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, a pair of end edges joining the first and second longitudinal side edges on opposite ends of the chassis, the chassis further comprising a topsheet;
- a backsheet;
- and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet;
- a fastening adhesive disposed on a garment-facing surface of the chassis;
- a first cuff extending along the first longitudinal side edge;
- and
- a second cuff extending along the second longitudinal side edge, wherein the article has a flexibility factor of less than 220 and an average pad curl of less than 3.0 mm.
A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal axis and a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the disposable absorbent article further comprising:
- a chassis having first and second longitudinal side edges extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, a pair of end edges joining the first and second longitudinal side edges on opposite ends of the chassis, the chassis further comprising a topsheet;
- a backsheet;
- and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet;
- a fastening adhesive disposed on a garment-facing surface of the chassis;
- a first cuff extending along the first longitudinal side edge;
- and
- a second cuff extending along the second longitudinal side edge, wherein the article has a flexibility factor of less than 190 and an average pad curl of less than 4.0 mm.
A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal axis and a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the disposable absorbent article further comprising:
- a chassis having first and second longitudinal side edges extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, a pair of end edges joining the first and second longitudinal side edges on opposite ends of the chassis, the chassis further comprising a topsheet;
- a backsheet;
- and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet;
- a fastening adhesive disposed on a garment-facing surface of the chassis;
- a first cuff extending along the first longitudinal side edge;
- and
- a second cuff extending along the second longitudinal side edge, wherein the article has an average pad curl (APC) that satisfies the following equation:
- APC≤(−0.0338FF+8.7879)
- wherein APC is in mm and FF is a flexibility factor of the article.
