Abstract
A novel maize variety designated PH40WC and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprise crossing maize variety PH40WC with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PH40WC through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided. Hybrid maize seed, plants or plant parts are produced by crossing the variety PH40WC or a locus conversion of PH40WC with another maize variety.
Claims20
A seed, plant, plant part, or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH40WC, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124819.
An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing a plant or plant part of inbred maize variety PH40WC, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124819, with a different maize plant, wherein the plant of maize variety PH40WC further comprises a transgene that is inherited by the seed, and wherein the transgene was introduced into inbred maize variety PH40WC by backcrossing or genetic transformation.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH40WC, representative seed of the maize variety PH40WC having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124819, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises the morphological and physiological characteristics of maize variety PH40WC listed in Table 1 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
