The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of pepper hybrid SV6698PB and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a pepper plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another pepper plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A pepper seed comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) A pepper plant grown from the seed of claim 1. ### Claim 3 (depends on 2) The plant of claim 2, wherein the plant is pepper hybrid SV6698PB, a sample of seed of said hybrid SV6698PB having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124070. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The seed of claim 1, defined as a seed of pepper hybrid SV6698PB, a sample of seed of said hybrid SV6698PB having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124070. ### Claim 5 (depends on 2) A plant part of the plant of claim 2, wherein said plant part comprises a cell which comprises at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 6 (depends on 5) The plant part of claim 5, further defined as a leaf, an ovule, pollen, a fruit, or a cell. ### Claim 7 (depends on 2) A tissue culture of regenerable cells of the plant of claim 2, wherein said cells comprise at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 8 (depends on 7) The tissue culture according to claim 7, comprising cells or protoplasts from a plant part selected from the group consisting of embryos, meristems, cotyledons, pollen, leaves, anthers, roots, root tips, pistil, flower, seed, and stalks, wherein said cells or protoplasts comprise at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 9 (depends on 7) A pepper plant regenerated from the tissue culture of claim 7, wherein said plant has all the physiological and morphological characteristics of the pepper plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 10 (depends on 2) A method of vegetatively propagating the pepper plant of claim 2 comprising the steps of: (a) collecting tissue capable of being propagated from the plant according to claim 2; (b) cultivating said tissue to obtain proliferated shoots; and (c) rooting said proliferated shoots to obtain rooted plantlets. ### Claim 11 (depends on 10) The method of claim 10, further comprising growing at least a first pepper plant from said rooted plantlets. ### Claim 12 A method of introducing a trait into a pepper line comprising: (a) utilizing as a recurrent parent a plant of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, by crossing a plant of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092 with a second donor pepper plant that comprises a trait to produce F1 progeny, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069, and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively; (b) selecting an F1 progeny that comprises the trait; (c) backcrossing the selected F1 progeny with a plant of the same pepper line used as the recurrent parent in step (a), to produce backcross progeny; (d) selecting backcross progeny comprising the trait of the donor parent pepper line used in step (a); and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) three or more times to produce selected fourth or higher backcross progeny that comprises the trait, and otherwise comprises the morphological and physiological characteristics of the recurrent parent pepper line used in step (a). ### Claim 13 (depends on 12) A pepper plant produced by the method of claim 12. ### Claim 14 A method of producing a pepper plant comprising an added trait, the method comprising introducing a transgene conferring the trait into a plant of pepper hybrid SV6698PB, pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said hybrid and lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124070, ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069, and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively. ### Claim 15 A pepper plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, further comprising a transgene. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The plant of claim 15, wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, pest resistance, disease resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, environmental stress tolerance, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism. ### Claim 17 A pepper plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of pepper line SBR-8T10607 or pepper line SBR8T12-6092, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069 and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, further comprising a single locus conversion. ### Claim 18 (depends on 17) The plant of claim 17, wherein the single locus conversion confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, pest resistance, disease resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, environmental stress tolerance, modified carbohydrate metabolism, and modified protein metabolism. ### Claim 19 A method for producing a seed of a pepper plant derived from at least one of pepper hybrid SV6698PB, pepper line SBR-8T10607, or pepper line SBR8T12-6092 comprising the steps of: (a) crossing a pepper plant of hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092 with itself or a second pepper plant; a sample of seed of said hybrid and lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124070, ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069, and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively; and (b) allowing seed of a hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant to form. ### Claim 20 A method of producing a seed of a hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant comprising the steps of: (a) producing a hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant from a seed produced by crossing a pepper plant of hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092 with itself or a second pepper plant, a sample of seed of said hybrid and lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124070, ATCC Accession Number PTA-124069, and ATCC Accession Number PTA-124068, respectively; and (b) crossing the hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant with itself or a different pepper plant to obtain a seed of a further hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant. ### Claim 21 (depends on 20) The method of claim 20, further comprising repeating said producing and crossing steps of (a) and (b) using a seed from said step (b) for producing a plant according to step (a) for at least one generation to produce a seed of an additional hybrid SV6698PB, line SBR-8T10607, or line SBR8T12-6092-derived pepper plant. ### Claim 22 (depends on 3) A plant part of the plant of claim 3, wherein the plant part comprises a cell of said plant. ### Claim 23 (depends on 2) A method of producing a pepper fruit comprising: (a) obtaining the plant according to claim 2, wherein the plant has been cultivated to maturity; and (b) collecting a pepper fruit from the plant.
