Abstract
Provided is a vehicle lamp including: a light source; and a light guide extending in a predetermined extension direction and configured to guide therethrough a light from the light source such that the light is incident from a rear surface and emitted from a front surface. The light guide includes a guide element including a front incident surface formed in a portion of the rear surface facing the light source; a side incident surface formed on a side of the front incident surface on the rear surface, and a reflecting surface formed on a side of the side incident surface on the rear surface and configured to totally reflect the light incident from the side incident surface toward the front surface. A joint portion between the front incident surface and the side incident surface is formed as a curved surface.
Claims11
A vehicle lamp comprising:
- a light source;
- and
- a light guide extending in a predetermined extension direction and configured to guide therethrough light from the light source such that the light is incident from a rear surface and emitted from a front surface;
- wherein the light guide includes a guide element including a front incident surface formed in a portion of the rear surface facing the light source;
- a side incident surface formed on a side of the front incident surface on the rear surface;
- and a reflecting surface formed on a side of the side incident surface on the rear surface and configured to totally reflect the light incident from the side incident surface through the light guiding element and is emitted from the front surface toward a front of the vehicle lamp, and
- a joint portion between the front incident surface and the side incident surface is formed as a curved surface, and light incident on the joint portion passes through the light guiding element and is emitted from the front surface toward a side of the vehicle lamp, without bending, such that the emitted light enhances side visibility of the vehicle lamp.
