Abstract
The present invention relates to polysaccharide soft tissue fillers comprising heparosan and processes for their preparation. The polysaccharide soft tissue fillers of the present invention are advantageously used in therapeutic or cosmetic applications such as for the filling of wrinkles.
Claims22
An injectable soft tissue filler composition in the form of a gel, comprising heparosan and hyaluronic acid (HA), or one of their salts, crosslinked with 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) to form a crosslinked HA-heparosan matrix, wherein the heparosan has a molecular weight of from about 1.0×105 Da to about 6.8×106 Da, and wherein the injection force of the gel comprising the crosslinked HA-heparosan matrix is less than the injection force of a gel comprising the heparosan crosslinked with BDDE and/or a gel comprising the HA crosslinked with BDDE.
