A compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, for use in the treatment of leukemia.

A method of treatment of leukemia selected from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia, by administering 4-hydroxy-5-methoxy-N,1-dimethyl-2-oxo-N-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxamide (tasquinimod) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a mammal in need thereof.
