Abstract
The present invention discloses a catalytic system for preparing highly branched alkane from olefin, which contains novel nickel or palladium complexes. In the presence of the catalytic system, highly branched oily alkane mixture can be efficiently obtained from olefins (such as ethylene) under mild conditions. The alkane mixture has a low bromine number, and can be used as a processing aid(s) and lubricant base oil with high-performance. Provides also was a method for preparing the catalyst and a method for preparing an oily olefin polymer.
Claims10
An oily alkane mixture prepared by the following steps:
- (a) catalyzing ethylene polymerization in the presence of (1) a catalyst comprising one or more complex(es);
- and (2) a cocatalyst comprising one or more alkyl aluminum reagents, thereby forming an oily highly branched polyethylene;
- (b) hydrogenating the oily highly branched polyethylene in the presence of a reduction catalyst;
- wherein each of said one or more complex(es) independently comprises one or more salt(s), wherein each of said one or more salt(s) independently comprises a compound of formula I and one or more divalent metal(s) selected from the group consisting of nickel, palladium and a combination thereof;
- wherein,
- Z is hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, or unsubstituted or substituted phenyl;
- Y is unsubstituted or substituted phenyl;
- or Z and Y are combined with the adjacent carbon atom to form an unsubstituted or substituted acenaphthyl, phenanthryl, or C5-C8 cycloalkyl, wherein each of the substituted phenyl, acenaphthyl, phenanthryl or cycloalkyl independently has 1 to 5 substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, and C1-C4 haloalkyl;
