Abstract
Administration of a mAb that specifically binds IL-1α is useful for treating tumor-associated diseases in human subjects.
Claims2
A method of reducing the size of a cancerous tumor in a human subject having cancer, the method comprising the step of administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an amount of an anti-IL-1α antibody (Ab) effective to reduce the size of the cancerous tumor in the subject, wherein the size of the tumor in the subject is reduced, wherein the anti-IL-1α Ab is a monoclonal antibody (mAb), and wherein the mAb comprises a complementarity determining region of MABp1.
