Abstract
A molecular sieve having the framework structure of ZSM-5 is produced using one or more of 1,4-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)butane dications, 1,5-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)pentane dications, and 1,6-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)hexane dications as a structure directing agent.

A molecular sieve having the structure of ZSM-5 and, in its as-synthesized form, comprising one or more of 1,4-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)butane dications, 1,5-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)pentane dications, and 1,6-bis(N-pentylpyrrolidinium)hexane dications in its pores, wherein said dications have one of the following formulas:
