Abstract
Provided is a skin external composition, which includes tranexamic acid or a salt thereof and a skin penetration enhancer, thereby showing remarkably increased skin permeability and improved sense of use, skin irritation, and storage stability.
Claims10
A method for enhancing skin permeability of tranexamic acid or a salt thereof, comprising the step of applying a skin external composition in the form of a soluble system or an emulsion system consisting of:
- (i) tranexamic acid or a salt thereof, and
- (ii) a skin penetration enhancer, which is a combination of (a) a material selected from the group consisting of sorbitol, isopropyl myristate, and propylene glycol monolaurate, and (b) diethylene glycol monoethyl ether,
- (iii) additives,
- (iv) a surfactant in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight,
- (v) a thickener in an amount of 0.01 to 3% by weight,
- (vi) a pH adjusting agent in an amount of 0.01 to 2% by weight, and
- wherein the skin permeability of tranexamic acid or a salt thereof is 10% to 100% after the composition is applied to a skin for 24 hours.
