Abstract
An adjustable multiple bladder system for an article of footwear is disclosed. The bladder system includes an outer bladder that may be inflated using an external pump. A valve member is disposed within the outer bladder and divides the outer bladder into two distinct inflation chambers. The inflation chambers may be inflated separately.
Claims7
A bladder system for an article of footwear, comprising:
- a sole structure;
- an outer bladder located in the sole structure and including an interior cavity;
- a valve member disposed inside the interior cavity and dividing the interior cavity into a first inflation chamber and a second inflation chamber, and wherein
- the valve member includes a first valve configured to engage with an external pump, a first fluid passage in fluid communication with a first valve, a second fluid passage in fluid communication with the first inflation chamber, and a third fluid passage in fluid communication with the second inflation chamber, and
- the valve member includes a second valve moveable into first and second positions, the first position of the second valve providing fluid communication between the first fluid passage and the second fluid passage and the second position of the second valve providing fluid communication between the first fluid passage and the third fluid passage;
- a first inner bladder disposed in the first inflation chamber;
- and
- a second inner bladder disposed in the second inflation chamber.
