Image forming apparatus for controlling image reading apparatus depending on image processing capability of the image forming apparatus, image reading apparatus, control method thereof, and storage medium

An image reading apparatus that reads an image on an original, the image reading apparatus comprising:

• a transmission unit configured to transmit the read image to an image forming apparatus configured to perform image processing;
• an acquisition unit configured to acquire identification information about the image forming apparatus;
• a determination unit configured to determine whether or not the acquired identification information is included in a first table in which clock frequencies for respectively controlling hardware of a plurality of image reading apparatuses are set for each of a plurality of pieces of identification information;
• and
• a setting unit configured to set a clock frequency for controlling hardware of the image reading apparatus in accordance with the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is included in the first table, while setting the clock frequency for controlling the hardware of the image reading apparatus to a default setting of the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is not included in the first table,
• wherein a minimum value of the clock frequencies in the first table is set as the default setting of the first table.

A control method for an image reading apparatus for reading an image on an original and an image forming apparatus for performing image processing to the read image, the control method comprising:

• an acquisition step of acquiring identification information about the image forming apparatus;
• and
• a determination step of determining whether or not the acquired identification information is included in a first table in which clock frequencies for respectively controlling hardware of a plurality of image reading apparatuses are set for each of a plurality of pieces of identification information;
• and
• a setting step of setting a clock frequency for controlling hardware of the image reading apparatus in accordance with the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is included in the first table, while setting the clock frequency for controlling the hardware of the image reading apparatus to a default setting of the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is not included in the first table,
• wherein a minimum value of the clock frequencies in the first table is set as the default setting of the first table.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored therein a program for causing a computer to implement a method of controlling an image reading apparatus for reading an image of an original and an image forming apparatus for image processing to the read image, the method comprising:

• an acquisition step of acquiring identification information about the image forming apparatus;
• and
• a determination step of determining whether or not the acquired identification information is included in a first table in which clock frequencies for respectively controlling hardware of a plurality of image reading apparatuses are set for each of a plurality of pieces of identification information;
• and
• a setting step of setting a clock frequency for controlling hardware of the image reading apparatus in accordance with the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is included in the first table, while setting the clock frequency for controlling the hardware of the image reading apparatus to a default setting of the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is not included in the first table,
• wherein a minimum value of the clock frequencies in the first table is set as the default setting of the first table.

A control method for an image reading apparatus for reading an image on an original, the control method comprising:

• a transmission step of transmitting the read image to an image forming apparatus configured to perform image processing;
• an acquisition step of acquiring identification information about the image forming apparatus;
• and
• a determination step of determining whether or not the acquired identification information is included in a first table in which clock frequencies for respectively controlling hardware of a plurality of image reading apparatuses are set for each of a plurality of pieces of identification information;
• a setting step of setting a clock frequency for controlling hardware of the image reading apparatus in accordance with the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is included in the first table, while setting the clock frequency for controlling the hardware of the image reading apparatus to a default setting of the first table when the acquired identification information is not included in the first table,
• wherein a minimum value of the clock frequencies in the first table is set as the default setting of the first table.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored therein a program for causing a computer to implement a method of controlling an image reading apparatus for reading an image of an original, the method comprising:

• a transmission step of transmitting the read image to an image forming apparatus configured to perform image processing;
• an acquisition step of acquiring identification information about the image forming apparatus;
• and
• a determination step of determining whether or not the acquired identification information is included in a first table in which clock frequencies for respectively controlling hardware of a plurality of image reading apparatuses are set for each of a plurality of pieces of identification information;
• and
• a setting step of setting a clock frequency for controlling hardware of the image reading apparatus in accordance with the first table when it is determined that the acquired identification information is included in the first table, while setting the clock frequency for controlling the hardware of the image reading apparatus to a default setting of the first table when the acquired identification information is not included in the first table,
• wherein a minimum value of the clock frequencies in the first table is set as the default setting of the first table.
