Abstract
In a multi-level cache system, a logic may be responsible for calculating the appropriate sizes for a database cache and a key-value store. Reception circuitry may receive a hit rate for the database cache, a reuse distance for the key-value store, and a user-selected quality of server. An adaption calculator may then calculate a target size for the database cache and a target size for the key-value store. Transmission circuitry may then transmit the target size for the database cache and the target size for the key-value store for use in the multi-level cache system.
Claims23
A logic device, comprising:
- reception circuitry to receive a user-selected quality of service;
- an adaption calculator to calculate a target key-value cache size and a target key-value store size based on the user-selected quality of service, a key-value cache hit rate, and a key-value store reuse distance;
- and
- transmission circuitry to transmit the target key-value cache size and the target key-value store size.
A method, comprising:
- receiving a key-value cache hit rate for a key-value cache and a key-value store reuse distance for a key-value store;
- receiving a user-selected quality of service;
- calculating a target key-value cache size and a target key-value store size to satisfy the user-selected quality of service based on the key-value cache hit rate and the key-value store reuse distance;
- and
- changing at least one of a size of the key-value cache to the target key-value cache size and a size of the key-value store to the target key-value store size.
An article, comprising a tangible storage medium, said tangible storage medium having stored thereon non-transitory instructions that, when executed by a machine, result in:
- receiving a key-value cache hit rate for a key-value cache and a key-value store reuse distance for a key-value store;
- receiving a user-selected quality of service;
- and
- calculating a target key-value cache size and a target key-value store size to satisfy the user-selected quality of service based on the key-value cache hit rate and the key-value store reuse distance;
- and
- changing at least one of a size of the key-value cache to the target key-value cache size and a size of the key-value store to the target key-value store size.
