Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to methods of using microorganisms that comprise one or more polynucleotides coding for enzymes in one or more pathways that catalyze a conversion of a fermentable carbon source to butadiene and products and processes derived therefrom.
Claims9
A method for producing butadiene, the method comprising:
- contacting a fermentable carbon source with a genetically modified microorganism comprising one or more polynucleotides encoding enzymes in a pathway that catalyzes a conversion of crotonyl alcohol to butadiene, wherein the pathway comprises a crotonaldehyde dehydrogenase, a crotonyl alcohol dehydrogenase, and an enzyme, wherein the enzyme has an amino acid sequence at least 70% identical to the enzymes encoded by SEQ ID NOs:
- 37, 41, 43, 44, 46, 47, 48, 50, 51 and 55, and has a dehydratase activity.
