Centrifuge for separating or clarifying food or beverage products

A centrifuge for separating food and beverage products, the centrifuge comprising:

• a base;
• an outer housing connected to a top end of the base, the outer housing including;
• an outer housing wall;
• and
• a spout extending through a lower portion of the outer housing wall;
• a rotor positioned within the outer housing, the rotor including:
• an axis of rotation;
• an upper annular rotor wall surrounding the axis of rotation and having a top end and a bottom end;
• a lower annular rotor wall surrounding the axis of rotation and having a bottom end and a top end connected to the bottom end of the upper annular rotor wall;
• an opened top end, the opened top end having a perimeter defining an upper end of the upper annular rotor wall;
• and
• a closed bottom end defining a lower end of the lower annular rotor wall;
• an inlet assembly positioned at least partially within the rotor and rotationally synced with the rotor, the inlet assembly including a central inlet positioned along the axis of rotation of the rotor;
• and
• a motor operably connected to the rotor and configured to rotate the rotor about the axis of rotation, the motor configured to increase and decrease the rotational speed of the rotor in an oscillating pattern;
• wherein the bottom end of the upper rotor wall is positioned further from the axis of rotation than the top end of the upper rotor wall.
