Method for entropy-encoding slice segment and apparatus therefor, and method for entropy-decoding slice segment and apparatus therefor

A video encoding method comprising:

• determining a maximum coding unit size;
• determining one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment, based on the maximum coding unit size;
• encoding information about the maximum coding unit size;
• determining whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• determining whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of the first slice segment or not;
• encoding first information indicating whether it is allowed to include the dependent slice segment in the picture or not and second information indicating whether the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment or not;
• determining a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment, and positions of entry points;
• encoding third information indicating the number of entry points of subsets and fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• storing a context variable of the first slice segment if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment;
• and
• generating a bitstream including the information about the maximum coding unit size, the first information, the second information, and the slice segment header including the third information and the fourth information,
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

• information about a maximum coding unit size;
• first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• second information indicating whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of a first slice segment or not;
• third information indicating a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment;
• and
• fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points,
• wherein the third information and the fourth information are included in a slice segment header of the bitstream,
• wherein one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment is determined based on the maximum coding unit size,
• wherein the fourth information is the information encoded by determining positions of the entry points,
• wherein a context variable of the first slice segment is stored if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment, and
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A video encoding method comprising:

• determining a maximum coding unit size;
• determining one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment, based on the maximum coding unit size;
• encoding information about the maximum coding unit size;
• determining whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• determining whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of the first slice segment or not;
• encoding first information indicating whether it is allowed to include the dependent slice segment in the picture or not and second information indicating whether the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment or not;
• determining a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment, and positions of entry points;
• encoding third information indicating the number of entry points of subsets and fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• storing a context variable of the first slice segment if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment;
• encoding a dependent slice segment which is located next to the first slice segment in the picture by using the stored context variable;
• and
• generating a bitstream including the information about the maximum coding unit size, the first information, the second information, and the slice segment header including the third information and the fourth information,
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

• information about a maximum coding unit size;
• first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• second information indicating whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of a first slice segment or not;
• third information indicating a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment;
• and
• fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points,
• wherein the third information and the fourth information are included in a slice segment header of the bitstream,
• wherein one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment is determined based on the maximum coding unit size,
• wherein the fourth information is the information encoded by determining positions of the entry points,
• wherein a context variable of the first slice segment is stored if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment,
• wherein a dependent slice segment which is located next to the first slice segment in the picture is encoded by using the stored context variable, and
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A video encoding method comprising:

• determining a maximum coding unit size;
• determining one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment, based on the maximum coding unit size;
• encoding information about the maximum coding unit size;
• determining whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• determining whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of the first slice segment or not;
• encoding first information indicating whether it is allowed to include the dependent slice segment in the picture or not and second information indicating whether the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment or not;
• determining a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment, and positions of entry points;
• encoding third information indicating the number of entry points of subsets and fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• storing a context variable of the first slice segment if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment;
• encoding sixth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a dependent slice segment or not;
• encoding the second slice segment by using the stored context variable when the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment, wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment;
• and
• generating a bitstream including the information about the maximum coding unit size, the first information, the second information, the sixth information, and the slice segment header including the third information and the fourth information,
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

• information about a maximum coding unit size;
• first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• second information indicating whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of a first slice segment or not;
• third information indicating a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment;

• sixth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a dependent slice segment or not,
• wherein the third information and the fourth information are included in a slice segment header of the bitstream,
• wherein one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment is determined based on the maximum coding unit size,
• wherein the fourth information is the information encoded by determining positions of the entry points,
• wherein a context variable of the first slice segment is stored if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment,
• wherein the second slice segment is encoded by using the stored context variable when the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment,
• wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment, and
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A video encoding method comprising:

• determining a maximum coding unit size;
• determining one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment, based on the maximum coding unit size;
• encoding information about the maximum coding unit size;
• determining whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• determining whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of the first slice segment or not;
• encoding first information indicating whether it is allowed to include the dependent slice segment in the picture or not and second information indicating whether the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment or not;
• determining a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment, and positions of entry points;
• encoding third information indicating the number of entry points of subsets and fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• storing a context variable of the first slice segment if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment;
• encoding fifth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a slice segment which is represented first in the picture or not;
• encoding the second slice segment by using the stored context variable when the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment and the second slice segment is not first in the picture, wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment;
• and
• generating a bitstream including the information about the maximum coding unit size, the first information, the second information, the fifth information, and the slice segment header including the third information and the fourth information,
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

• information about a maximum coding unit size;
• first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• second information indicating whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of a first slice segment or not;
• third information indicating a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment;
• fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• and
• fifth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a slice segment which is represented first in the picture or not,
• wherein the third information and the fourth information are included in a slice segment header of the bitstream,
• wherein one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment is determined based on the maximum coding unit size,
• wherein the fourth information is the information encoded by determining positions of the entry points,
• wherein a context variable of the first slice segment is stored if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment,
• wherein the second slice segment is encoded by using the stored context variable when the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment and the second slice segment is not first in the picture,
• wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment, and
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A video encoding method comprising:

• determining a maximum coding unit size;
• determining one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment, based on the maximum coding unit size;
• encoding information about the maximum coding unit size;
• determining whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• determining whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of the first slice segment or not;
• encoding first information indicating whether it is allowed to include the dependent slice segment in the picture or not and second information indicating whether the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment or not;
• determining a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment, and positions of entry points;
• encoding third information indicating the number of entry points of subsets and fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points;
• storing a context variable of the first slice segment if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment;
• encoding fifth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a slice segment which is represented first in the picture or not;
• when the second slice segment is not first in the picture, encoding sixth information which indicates whether the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment or not;
• encoding the second slice segment by using the stored context variable when the sixth information indicates that the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment, wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment;
• and
• generating a bitstream including the information about the maximum coding unit size, the first information, the second information, the fifth information, the sixth information, and the slice segment header including the third information and the fourth information,
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

• information about a maximum coding unit size;
• first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a picture or not;
• second information indicating whether a current maximum coding unit is at an end of a first slice segment or not;
• third information indicating a number of entry points of subsets, which are included in the first slice segment;
• fourth information indicating a number that is less by 1 than an offset of the entry points,
• fifth information which indicates whether a second slice segment is a slice segment which is represented first in the picture or not;
• and
• sixth information which indicates whether the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment or not,
• wherein the third information and the fourth information are included in a slice segment header of the bitstream,
• wherein one or more maximum coding unit included in a first slice segment is determined based on the maximum coding unit size,
• wherein the fourth information is the information encoded by determining positions of the entry points,
• wherein the sixth information is encoded when the second slice segment is not first in the picture,
• wherein a context variable of the first slice segment is stored if it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the picture and the current maximum coding unit is at the end of the first slice segment,
• wherein the second slice segment is encoded by using the stored context variable when the sixth information indicates that the second slice segment is a dependent slice segment,
• wherein the second slice segment is located next to the first slice segment, and
• wherein the number and the positions of the entry points are determined if a plurality of tiles are included in the picture or synchronization can be performed for context variables of the current maximum coding unit included in the picture.
