Abstract
A system and method for verifying content on a network site is provided. A document such as a website is identified. The document is accessed over a network from a content provider system connected to the network to obtain information about the document. A method, comprising:
- identifying, by one or more computers, a first document that is in a first network site;
- determining, for each of a plurality of particular documents that are in one or more other network sites that differ from the first network site, a degree of separation between the particular document and the first document;
- determining, based on the degree of separation of one or more of the particular documents, a set of compliance rules that will be used to evaluate content of the one or more particular documents;
- and
- determining, by one or more computers, whether the first document is compliant based at least in part on an evaluation, according to the set of compliance rules, of content of the one or more particular documents.
A system comprising:
- a data store storing available compliance rules;
- and
- one or more computers that interact with the data store and execute instructions that cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- identifying a first document that is in a first network site;
- determining, for each of a plurality of particular documents that are in one or more other network sites that differ from the first network site, a degree of separation between the particular document and the first document;
- determining, based on the degree of separation of one or more of the particular documents, a set of compliance rules that will be used to evaluate content of the one or more particular documents;
- and
- determining whether the first document is compliant based at least in part on an evaluation, according to the set of compliance rules, of content of the one or more particular documents.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that when executed by one or more computers cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- identifying a first document that is in a first network site;
- determining, for each of a plurality of particular documents that are in one or more other network sites that differ from the first network site, a degree of separation between the particular document and the first document;
- determining, based on the degree of separation of one or more of the particular documents, a set of compliance rules that will be used to evaluate content of the one or more particular documents;
- and
- determining whether the first document is compliant based at least in part on an evaluation, according to the set of compliance rules, of content of the one or more particular documents.
