Traffic signal emulation using genetic algorithm

A traffic emulation system for predicting operation of traffic signals of a traffic network comprising:

• a vehicle,
• a control system in communication with the vehicle for predicting operation of traffic signals, the control system including a circuit engine for determining a logic circuit as an output representative of predictive operation of at least one of the traffic signals, the circuit engine including a phenotype module for providing populations of candidate phenotypes and an evaluation module for selecting parent phenotypes from the populations of candidate phenotypes for breeding to form successive generations of populations, the candidate phenotypes each comprising an expression of respective traffic signal genotypes, the logic circuit comprising at least one selected candidate phenotype from among the populations.
