Abstract
A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property is described. The monitoring system includes a sensor that includes a battery and that is configured to generate sensor data based on activity in a portion of the property that is within a field of view of the sensor. The monitoring system further includes a monitor control unit that is configured to: after replacement of a battery of the sensor, receive and analyze the sensor data, based on analyzing the sensor data, determine a status of the portion of the property without recalibrating the field of view of the sensor, and provide, for output, a notification that includes data describing the status of the portion of the property.
Claims19
A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property, the monitoring system comprising:
- a sensor (i) that includes a battery that is configured to magnetically couple to the sensor and (ii) that is configured to generate sensor data based on activity in a portion of the property that is within a field of view of the sensor;
- and
- a monitor control unit that is configured to:
- after replacement of a battery of the sensor, receive and analyze the sensor data;
- based on analyzing the sensor data, determine a status of the portion of the property without recalibrating the field of view of the sensor;
- and
- provide, for output, a notification that includes data describing the status of the portion of the property.
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- receiving, from a sensor and by a monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property, sensor data based on activity in a portion of the property that is within a field of view of the sensor;
- after replacement of a battery that is configured to magnetically couple to the sensor, analyzing, by the monitoring system, the sensor data;
- based on analyzing the sensor data, determining, by the monitoring system, a status of the portion of the property without recalibrating the field of view of the sensor;
- and
- provide, for output by the monitoring system, a notification that includes data describing the status of the portion of the property.
A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property, the monitoring system comprising:
- a sensor that includes a battery and that is configured to generate sensor data based on activity in a portion of the property that is within a field of view of the sensor;
- and
- a monitor control unit that is configured to:
- after replacement of a battery of the sensor, receive and analyze the sensor data;
- based on analyzing the sensor data, determine a status of the portion of the property without recalibrating the field of view of the sensor;
- and
- provide, for output, a notification that includes data describing the status of the portion of the property,
- wherein the sensor includes an internal battery such that the sensor maintains connectivity to the monitor control unit during replacement of the battery.
