Abstract
A system for a tracker for cursor navigation is described herein. The system includes a display, camera, memory, and processor. The memory that is to store instructions and is communicatively coupled to the camera and the display. The processor is communicatively coupled to the camera, the display, and the memory. When the processor is to execute the instructions, the processor is to extract an object mask of an object and execute an optical flow on good feature points from the object mask. The processor is also to estimate a movement of the object and render a cursor on the display based on the movement of the object.
Claims23
A system for a tracker for cursor navigation, comprising:
- a display;
- a camera;
- a memory to store instructions and that is communicatively coupled to the camera and the display;
- and
- a processor communicatively coupled to the camera, the display, and the memory, wherein the processor is to execute the instructions to:
- extract an object mask of an object;
- execute an optical flow on one or more feature points of the extracted object mask;
- estimate a movement of the object based on a plurality of motion vectors extracted from the optical flow, each of the plurality of motion vectors having an associated length;
- select, from the plurality of motion vectors and based at least in part on the associated lengths, motion vectors that satisfy a defined threshold;
- and
- render a cursor on the display based at least in part on the selected motion vectors.
A method, comprising:
- extracting an object mask of an object;
- executing an optical flow on one or more feature points of the extracted object mask;
- estimating a movement of the object based on a plurality of motion vectors extracted from the optical flow, each of the plurality of motion vectors having an associated length;
- selecting, from the plurality of motion vectors and based at least in part on the associated lengths, motion vectors satisfying a defined first threshold;
- and
- rendering a cursor based at least in part on the selected motion vectors.
An apparatus for a tracker for cursor navigation, comprising:
- an image capture mechanism to obtain a sequence of frames;
- an extractor to extract an object mask of an object in the sequence of frames;
- an optical flow mechanism to execute an optical flow on one or more feature points of the object mask;
- an estimator to estimate a movement of the object based on a plurality of motion vectors extracted from the optical flow, each of the plurality of motion vectors having an associated length;
- a selecting mechanism to select, from the plurality of motion vectors and based at least in part on the associated lengths, motion vectors that satisfy a defined threshold;
- and
- a renderer to render a cursor on a display based at least in part on the selected motion vectors.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- extract an object mask of an object;
- execute an optical flow on one or more feature points of the extracted object mask;
- estimate a movement of the object based on a plurality of motion vectors extracted from the optical flow, each of the plurality of motion vectors having an associated length;
- select, from the plurality of motion vectors and based at least in part on the associated lengths, motion vectors satisfying a defined first threshold;
- and
- render a cursor based at least in part on the selected motion vectors.
