Abstract
A method for starting an engine is provided. The method comprises in response to an engine start request, cycling a gaseous fuel injector prior to activating a starter motor. In this way, delayed engine starts using gaseous fuel may be mitigated.

A method, comprising:
- in response to an engine start request, cycling a gaseous fuel injector prior to activating a starter motor, wherein cycling the gaseous fuel injector comprises:
- applying voltage to the gaseous fuel injector;
- and
- after a threshold drop in fuel rail pressure is detected, not applying voltage to the gaseous fuel injector.

A method for starting an engine, comprising:
- activating a gaseous fuel injector before an engine start request;
- and
- deactivating the activated gaseous fuel injector in response to a decrease in gaseous fuel pressure.
