## Abstract

Provided is a method for continuously manufacturing carbon nanotube fibers with high strength and high conductivity, which includes synthesizing carbon nanotube fibers by direct spinning; treating the carbon nanotube fibers with a strong acid while applying tension thereto; and washing the carbon nanotube fibers treated with the strong acid.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for continuously manufacturing carbon nanotube fibers with high strength and high conductivity, comprising:
synthesizing carbon nanotube fibers by direct spinning;
treating the carbon nanotube fibers with a strong acid while applying tension thereto; and
washing the carbon nanotube fibers thereafter,
wherein the carbon nanotube fibers have an IG/ID ratio of 10 or greater and the tension is applied so as to stretch the carbon nanotube fibers by 4% to 15%.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the carbon nanotube fibers after the washing have a density of 1.1 g/cm3 or greater, a specific strength of 2 N/tex or greater, and an electrical conductivity of 2 MS/m or greater.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tension is applied so as to stretch the carbon nanotube fibers by 8% to 15%.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, further comprising oxidizing the carbon nanotube fibers before treating with the strong acid.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein the oxidation is performed so that the oxygen atom % of the carbon nanotube fibers is in the range of 2% to 20%.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising coagulating the carbon nanotube fibers after the treatment with the strong acid.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the strong acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of sulfuric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, fuming sulfuric acid, fluorosulfonic acid (FSO3H), trifluoroacetic acid (CF3COOH), trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (CF3SO3H), fluoroantimonic acid (HSbF6), and carborane acid.
