Abstract
Provided are an insect pest-targeting gel composition causing neither leakage nor reaction of a volatile substance and capable of releasing the volatile substance at a constant rate; and a sustained release preparation including the insect pest-targeting gel composition. More specifically, provided is an insect pest-targeting gel composition including one or more volatile substances and an oil gelling agent, wherein the volatile substance is included in an amount of from 70.0 to 99.0% by weight by the insect pest-targeting gel composition.

An insect pest-targeting gel composition comprising:
- one or more volatile substances and
- an oil gelling agent,
- wherein the one or more volatile substances are comprised in an amount of from 70.0 to 99.0% by weight by the insect pest-targeting gel composition,
- wherein the oil gelling agent is selected from the group consisting of a long-chain fatty acid, a dextrin fatty acid ester, a sucrose fatty acid ester, a fructooligosaccharide fatty acid ester, a benzylidene derivative of sorbitol, and wax, and
- wherein the oil gelling agent is not a polyvalent metal salt of a long-chain fatty acid or 12-hydroxystearic acid.
