Abstract
A novel maize variety designated PH42YV and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprise crossing maize variety PH42YV with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PH42YV through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided. Hybrid maize seed, plants or plant parts are produced by crossing the variety PH42YV or a locus conversion of PH42YV with another maize variety.
Claims20
A seed, plant, plant part, or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH42YV, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124767.
An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing a plant or plant part of inbred maize variety PH42YN, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124767 with a different maize plant, wherein inbred maize variety PH42YV further comprises a transgene that is inherited by the seed, wherein the transgene was introduced into inbred maize variety PH42YV by backcrossing or genetic transformation.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH42YV, representative seed of the maize variety PH42YV having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124767, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises all of the phenotypic characteristics of maize variety PH42YV listed in Table 1 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
