Abstract
A method and technique for OCR-based single sign-on in a computing environment includes launching a login interface to log a user into an application. The login interface includes one or more input fields configured to receive credentials to be authenticated. An agent executing on a computer device sends a keystroke to input data into at least one of the input fields. A screenshot of the login interface is captured, and then the agent attempts to determine a state of a login operation on the login interface based on the captured screenshot. Responsive to being unable to determine the state of the login operation on the login interface, the agent sends at least one keystroke to return the login operation to a known state.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- launching a login interface to log a user into an application, the login interface having one or more input fields configured to receive credentials to be authenticated;
- sending, by an agent executing on a computer device, a keystroke to input data into at least one of the input fields;
- capturing a screenshot of the login interface;
- determining a state of a login operation on the login interface based on the captured screenshot;
- and
- responsive to being unable to determine the state of the login operation on the login interface, sending, by the agent, at least one keystroke to return the login operation to a known state.
A system, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a sign-on agent executable by the processor to:
- launch a login interface to log a user into an application, the login interface having one or more input fields configured to receive credentials to be authenticated;
- send a keystroke to input data into at least one of the input fields;
- capture a screenshot of the login interface;
- determine a state of a login operation on the login interface based on the captured screenshot;
- and
- responsive to being unable to determine the state of the login operation on the login interface, send at least one keystroke to return the login operation to a known state.
A computer program product for OCR-based single-sign-on in a computing environment, the computer program product comprising:
- a non-transitory computer readable medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code comprising computer readable program code configured to:
- launch a login interface to log a user into an application, the login interface having one or more input fields configured to receive credentials to be authenticated;
- send a keystroke to input data into at least one of the input fields;
- capture a screenshot of the login interface;
- determine a state of a login operation on the login interface based on the captured screenshot;
- and
- responsive to being unable to determine the state of the login operation on the login interface, send at least one keystroke to return the login operation to a known state.
