Abstract
A display of an electric device includes a plurality of separated transparent electrode blocks, which are configured to provide one or more of supplemental features such as touch recognition. Signal paths between the transparent electrode blocks and the driver for the supplemental feature are implemented with a plurality of conductive lines placed under positioned under one or more planarization layers. The conductive lines implementing the signal paths are routed across the display area, directly toward a non-display area where drive-integrated circuits are located.
Claims19
A liquid crystal display device with a touch sensor, comprising:
- a liquid crystal layer interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate;
- a touch driver;
- a common signal line connected to the touch driver;
- a lower planarization layer on the common signal line;
- a thin-film-transistor on the lower planarization layer, the thin-film transistor connected to one of a plurality of gate lines and one of a plurality of data lines;
- an upper planarization layer on the thin-film-transistor;
- a bypass line interposed between the lower planarization layer and the upper planarization layer;
- a common electrode and a pixel electrode on the upper planarization layer, the common electrode including a plurality of separated pieces of common electrode blocks, of which at least one of the common electrode blocks is connected to the common signal line via the bypass line, wherein the common signal line has a first portion extended longitudinally under a first data line in a same longitudinal direction as the first data line and a second portion extended longitudinally under a second data line in a same longitudinal direction as the second data line.
A display panel, comprising:
- a plurality of common signal lines provided on a substrate, which are connected to a touch driver, each of the plurality of common signal lines having a routing portion and a contact portion projected out from the routing portion;
- a lower planarization layer covering the plurality of common signal lines;
- an array of thin-film transistors (TFTs) on the lower planarization layer, the array of TFTs being connected to a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines on the lower planarization layer;
- an upper planarization layer covering the array of TFTs;
- and
- a plurality of separated pieces of transparent electrode blocks provided on the upper planarization layer, each of the plurality of transparent electrode blocks connected to at least one of the common signal lines via a bypass line interposed between the lower planarization layer and the upper planarization layer, wherein at least one of the common signal lines includes a first routing portion, a second routing portion and a detour portion, of which the first and second routing portion are arranged underneath a first data line and the detour portion is arranged underneath a second data line, wherein the lower planarization layer includes an organosiloxane hybrid layer or a hybrid polysiloxane polymer, and wherein the detour portion is slanted from the first data line to the second data line and extends longitudinally in a same longitudinal direction as the second data line under the second data line, then returns back under the first data line.
