Abstract
A cable gripping structure for securing an optical fiber cable in an optical fiber connector possesses a base part and a pair of support walls disposed opposite one another on the base part, and blade parts for gripping the optical fiber cable are disposed on the pair of support walls, at the tip ends thereof and separated from the bases of the support walls.
Claims19
A cable gripping structure for securing an optical fiber cable in an optical fiber connector, comprising:
- a mounting part and a cover part rotatably connected to the mounting part wherein the cover part comprises:
- a base part;
- a pair of side walls extending from the base part;
- and
- a pair of support walls disposed opposite one another on the base part between the side walls, wherein the support walls are spaced apart from the side walls by lateral gaps and can flex outwardly into the lateral gaps to spread further apart from one another in order to accommodate large-diameter optical fibers;
- and
- blades for gripping the optical fiber cable disposed on the pair of support walls proximate to tip ends thereof and separated from base ends of the support walls such that the blades extend in a vertical direction relative to the base part and at a height away from the base part, with the base part being separated from proximal ends of the blades by a vertical gap.
