A portable air compressor comprising:
- a pistol-shaped housing having a handle portion;
- an air compressing assembly disposed within the housing, the air compressing assembly including a switch, a motor, a gear assembly, and a piston;
- and
- a storage unit integrated into the handle portion of the housing and configured to retain at least one of a power cord and an adapter within the storage unit, wherein the storage unit includes a cover having a power cord pass-through and is pivotally coupled to the handle portion of the housing to pivot between an open position and a closed position.

A portable air compressor comprising:
- a pistol-shaped housing having a handle portion;
- an air compressing assembly disposed within the housing, the air compressing assembly including a switch, a motor, a gear assembly, and a piston;
- a storage unit integrated into the handle portion of the housing and configured to retain at least one of a power cord and an adapter within the storage unit, wherein the storage unit includes a cover having a power cord pass-through and is pivotally coupled to the handle portion of the housing to pivot between an open position and a closed position;
- and
- an air pressure sensor configured to accept a pressure threshold, the air pressure sensor including an automatic shut-off feature to shut the portable air compressor OFF when a pressure of an object being inflated by the portable air compressor reaches the pressure threshold.
