Claims15
An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas produced by a compression ignition engine comprising:
- a substrate having an inlet end surface and an outlet end surface;
- a catalytic material disposed on the substrate, wherein the catalytic material comprises platinum (Pt);
- and
- a capture zone comprising a capture material,
- wherein the capture material is disposed on the outlet end surface of the substrate and a plurality of channel walls within the substrate, wherein the capture zone has a mean length of ≤15 mm;
- and
- wherein the capture material comprises a Pt-alloying material, wherein the Pt-alloying material comprises a metal or an oxide thereof selected from the group consisting of palladium (Pd);
- gold (Au);
- copper (Cu);
- a mixture of Pd and Au;
- a mixture of Pd and Cu;
