Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the management of fluids required to operate a vehicle, remarkable in that it comprises an operation of the anodic oxidation of a solution of hydrogen peroxide (P) for the purpose of producing oxygen, water and hydrogen cations by subjecting said solution to an electric current produced by an electrical power source. The invention also relates to a device that makes it possible to implement the method. Applications: management of the fluids required to operate a vehicle in particular an aircraft.
Claims13
Method of managing fluids required to operate a vehicle, characterised by the fact that it comprises an operation of the anodic oxidation of a solution of hydrogen peroxide (P) stabilized with a metal sequestering agent for the purpose of producing oxygen, water and hydrogen cations by subjecting said solution to an electric current produced by an electrical power source.
A method for the production of water and oxygen for a vehicle, the method comprising:
- (a) providing a first tank formed from stainless steel or aluminum;
- (b) filling the tank with an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide;
- (c) providing a source of electric current;
- (d) providing a cell having a plurality of layers, the layers including:
- (1) a first porous layer including a catalyst for producing anionic oxidation electrons;
- (2) a second porous layer including a catalyst for capturing anionic oxidation electrons;
- and
- (3) a non-porous electrical conductor;
- (e) providing aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide from the tank to the device,
- (f) oxidizing hydrogen peroxide in the cell by supplying electric current from the source to form oxygen, water and hydrogen cations;
- (g) reducing the hydrogen cations to form hydrogen gas;
- (h) storing the hydrogen gas in a second tank;
- (i) storing the oxygen gas in a third tank;
- (j) remineralizing the water formed and neutralizing any residual hydrogen peroxide in the water;
- (k) supplying hydrogen gas and aqueous hydrogen peroxide from the first tank to the cell;
- and
- (l) oxidizing the hydrogen gas to form hydrogen cation and reducing the hydrogen peroxide to form water in the cell, the oxidation-reduction reaction providing electric current.
