A light-shielding paint for an optical element comprising:

• an epoxy group-containing compound;
• an inorganic particle having a refractive index (nd) of 2.2 or more and 3.5 or less
• a silica particle;
• a coloring agent;
• and
• an amine curing agent,
• wherein a number-average particle size of the inorganic particle is 10 nm or more and 100 nm or less;
• wherein an amount of the coloring agent is 2.5% by mass or more and 15.0% by mass or less, wherein an amount of the inorganic particle is 2.5% by mass or more and 20.0% by mass or less;
• wherein an amount of the amine curing agent is 0.5% by mass or more and 13.0% by mass or less, and
• wherein a ratio (A′/A) of a mass (A′) of the amine curing agent to an active hydrogen equivalent (A) of the amine curing agent and a ratio (E′/E) of a mass (E′) of the epoxy group-containing compound to an epoxy equivalent (E) of the epoxy group-containing compound satisfy formula (1) below
• 0.1≤[(A′/A)/(E′/E)]≤0.45 Formula (1).
